May 13th, 2022 – AIT and the Ministry of Public Administration (MOPA), Government of Bangladesh, discussed further collaboration in lifelong learning and capacity building.

President Woon emphasized that AIT and Bangladesh’s Government’s relationship is very comprehensive. Pupils from Bangladesh forms one of the largest student body in AIT. On the continued education and lifelong learning side, AIT Extension is the responsible arm of AIT. And equipped with more technological knowledge gained during the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, AIT extension is now more capable of doing training programs both online and onsite. It can contribute more to Bangladesh and the region.

AIT Vice President of Knowledge Transfer, Dr. Naveed Anwar commented that the training programs conducted traditionally can be improved by:

  1. pre-engaging with the participants through online mediums to understand them well before they arrive,
  2. training and engaging them well when they arrive,
  3. and getting post-training feedback when they return to work.

Bangabandhu Chair Prof. Joyshree stressed that given the climate change issue and how the world has to respond to it, there would be a transformative change in the societies. And this change cannot be delivered by business-as-usual knowledge. We need to top up our knowledge where AIT plays a crucial role.

The State Minister and M.P. of the Ministry of Public Administration (MOPA), H.E. Mr. Farhad Hossain, emphasized that the Bangladesh government focuses on enriching people’s knowledge to keep pace with future development — collaborating with AIT, the country will progress much ahead in the future.
