The School of Environment, Resources and Development Welcomes Dr. Malay Pramanik

SERD is happy to welcome our new faculty member Dr. Malay, who has joined as an Assistant Professor at the Urban Innovation and Sustainability academic program in the School of Environment, Resources and Development (Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand).

June 1st, 2022He holds an MPhil and PhD in Climate Change and environment management from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India). He is the recipient of the distinguished ‘Charlie Boyden Award’ from the ‘ECSA57’ (2018), ‘Best Presentation Award’ from Elsevier (2018), ‘Early Career Scientist’ Award from European Geophysical Union (2019), ‘IUBMB travel award’ for MWS (2019, 2020), ‘Our Planet Our Health Initiative travel award’ from Welcome Trust (2019), and ‘WOHC2020 fellowship award’ from World One Health Congress (2020) for his outstanding research work.

He has worked at the ICMR-NIMR (New Delhi, India) for the ICMR and DST-sponsored Projects on Climate Change and Early Warning System. Previously he was also with the Asian Institute of Technology as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in UKRI-GCRF funded Living Deltas Hub project.

His research interests include integrated geospatial solutions, urban sustainability, urban logistics and innovation, urban environment management, disaster and climate change, and urban resilience.
