AIT Renews Partnership with General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University KDU, Sri Lanka

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) via Virtual ceremony on 29th August 2022. The MoU was signed between AIT President Dr. Eden Woon and Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP, Vice Chancellor of KDU.

The renewal of the MoU will include sponsorship of KDU faculty and staff to study at AIT for doctoral and master’s degrees, development and implementation of Unified Bachelor’s – Master’s Degree Programme, collaboration on joint research projects, industrial training, and internship in AIT for KDU students, and conduct of other potential projects of mutual interest.

Major General Milinda Peiris stated that the relationship with AIT started in 2015 during his first tenure as Vice-Chancellor. In 2019, he was offered a second tenureship and he is keen that concrete implementations through the renewal of this MoU will result in more active and mutually beneficial partnerships.

AIT President Dr. Eden Woon expressed his sincere thanks to the Vice Chancellor and mentioned that KDU and Sri Lanka is no stranger to AIT and AIT looks forward to establishing a broader relationship with KDU.
