Memorandum of Agreement with the Government of Punjab, Pakistan signed and completed its first international training program on Project Monitoring and Impact Evaluation at AIT
Following the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing between AIT and the Punjab Resource Management Program Unit (PRMPU), Government of Punjab, Pakistan, in June 2022, the first international training program on Project Monitoring and Impact Evaluation started from 1st to 12th August 2022.

Sixteen government officials working in the Planning and Development Board (P&D Board) participated in the training activities. The training contents and activities were customized and designed per the current needs of the P&D function. Aiming to enhance practical knowledge on monitoring and impact evaluation approaches and methods, AIT blended multiple learning activities such as input experience sharing sessions, case-based study visit programs, and project work on outcome-based evaluation. The participants were very active and shared many of their practical experiences. Learning environments provided by AIT allowed government officials to gain key takeaways and ideas to develop policies and new solutions for monitoring and evaluation functions.
The second and third batches of the training under this MoA will be conducted in September and October, respectively. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIT and the Government of Punjab for more collaborative activities has also been finalized and is expected to be signed in September.
About the program
Monitoring progress and evaluating impacts in various aspects of a project is a vital phase in project management. Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) help not only for following-up progress but also for reporting. It is a pathway for tracing project achievements and developing remedial measures to ensure effectiveness. Project managers, coordinators, and evaluators must adopt practical knowledge to prepare a relevant plan for M&E. Project M&E require the skill set to design and develop data collection instruments for scientifically sound and coherent measurement of impacts.
