AIT signs MoA with General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 14th November 2022. The MoA was signed between AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto and Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP, Vice Chancellor of KDU on staff capacity building at KDU campus, Sri Lanka during President Yamamoto’s mission to Sri Lanka.

The purpose of this MoA is on Capacity Building Partnership Program culminating in the award of Master’s/ Doctoral Degree, a minimum of three PhD students and two Master students to be sent to AIT each year from 2023-2028.

Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda provided a welcome remark and brief background on previous relationship with AIT that the first MoU between the two organizations was signed in 2015. After that, in August 2022, AIT & KDU renewed the partnership. He further stated that KDU, Sri Lanka was honor to be the first country where Prof. Yamamoto made his first official visit overseas. He looked forward to strengthen various collaborations with AIT.

AIT President Prof. Yamamoto expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda. He looked forward to fruitful collaborations with KDU.
