Professor Mokbul Ahmad from the Department of Development and Sustainability in collaboration with AIT Extension conducted a study by a number of agencies which included Chritian Aid, Government of Bangladesh, World Food Programme of the UN on the infrstructure built for the Rohingya refugees camps in south eastern Bangladesh. The report mostly assessed the state of the infrastructure opinion of the key beneficiaries that is the Rohingya refugees and the organizations involved in working with them.
The report tries to see how the refugees assess the infrastructure built for them and maintain by both the refugess and the relevant agencies which includes Government of Bangladesh, Christian Aid, Islamic Relief, OXFAM GB, and many other NGOs. The key finding of the report was generally the refugees were satified at the status and maintenance of the infrastructure built for them. The refugees were worries about the future resource and management support from the government of Bangladesh, NGOs and UN agencies.
The report was published in August 2022 and it provide expert advice and possible suggestions to goverments, UN agencies, international NGOs and local NGOs, for better livelihood and living conditions of the refugees, mostly the vulnerable groups i.e women, children and people with physical challenges.
