A group of AIT Chinese Alumni in Thailand continuing support to AIT

On 28 February 2023, a group of AIT Chinese Alumni living in Thailand, led by Mr. Liu Chongming (SEC’93), presented a mock cheque to AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto for their fourth installment in the amount of THB 200,000 towards fulfilling the signed agreement with AIT for their One Million Baht Student Exchange Scholarship Program Fund.

President Prof. Yamamoto thanked the group of Chinese alumni in Thailand as a big supporter to AIT towards the Student Exchange Scholarship Program where students will have international exposure with prestigious universities around the world that AIT has agreements. 

Mr. Liu stated that most of the group present today are senior alumni who graduated more than 25 years ago and still recall fond memories during their student days at AIT.   The response from the group towards this student exchange scholarship fund was instantaneously supported. Mr. Liu further stated, even though this is only a five-year program, the group will continue to support AIT in future fundraising initiatives brought to their attention.

Prof., EECC, SERD and Director, AIT Belt and Road Center; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs; Ms. Danielle Duanduan Duan, Coordinator, International Affairs, Office of International & Public Affairs; Ms. Sirikate Owasit, Senior Advancement Officer, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs; Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, Alumni Affairs Officer, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs; and Mr. Yifan He, EEM, SERD, doctoral student one of the recipients of the AITAA China Chapter Belt and Road scholarships.
