7 July 2023 – Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Sanshin Construction (Thailand) Co., LTD recently signed two agreements for research collaboration on 7 July.
An agreement was signed to establish the research collaboration between AIT and Sanshin Construction (Thailand) Co., LTD. to implement the Research Collaboration Program regarding the soil improvement technology for the Purple Line Project and the Orange Line West Project in Thailand and other countries in the region and implement the program.

Similarly, a second agreement was signed to establish research collaboration among AIT, Sanshin Construction (Thailand) Co., LTD, NIT, Inc. from Japan, and GILDAON (Thailand) Co., LTD. This collaboration aims to implement a Research Collaboration Program for Thailand’s Purple Line Project. This program focuses on jet grouting with admixture/chemical additives (ADMION material). The involved parties are dedicated to implementing this program.

Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto added that the collaboration provides a valuable opportunity to work together, leverage expertise, and learn from one another. He highlighted the numerous challenges presented by increasing urbanization and stressed that cooperation of this nature facilitates their resolution.
Mr. Junichi Yamazaki, President of Sanshin Corporation, appreciated the collaboration and support from AIT’s Geotechnical Engineering program of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering department. He acknowledged the strength of the partnership in overcoming various challenges. With the increasing obstacles brought by urbanization and the complexities of the new MRT project, Mr. Yamazaki expressed confidence in the collaboration, technology, and knowledge to be highly beneficial for this ambitious project and other underground construction endeavors in the region.
