24 July 2023 – The Development Policies and Practices (DPP) Executive Diploma Program, a collaborative initiative between the Geneva Graduate Institute (GGI) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), officially began its Module 1 on July 24 at AIT’s School of Management, located in downtown Bangkok.

Participants from diverse backgrounds, including Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Portugal, gathered at the AIT campus and were introduced to the fundamental concepts and contemporary issues related to development history, policy cycles, policy analysis, development actors, humanitarian-peace-development nexus, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Led by Dr. Faiz Shah and Dr. Philippe Doneys from AIT, the program provided an enriching platform for extensive discussions on the progress and challenges in achieving the SDGs amidst the ongoing global crises, including the economic repercussions of the post-pandemic recession.
The opening session featured a warm welcome from Dr. Nguyen Huong Thuy Phan, the GGI Academic Coordinator, Dr. Winai Wongsurawat, the Regional Academic Coordinator, and Ms. Dao Thanh Yen, the Administrative Assistant. The program’s inauguration represents the beginning of a transformative educational journey for the participants.
