30 August 2023 – The AIT Entrepreneurship Open House, hosted by the AIT Entrepreneurship Center (AIT EC) on 30 August, aimed to provide insight into the Center’s mission and its dedication to AIT students. The event was moderated by Ms. Ms. Jennifer, Project Coordinator at AIT EC.

Prof. Dieter Trau, Director of the AIT EC, introduced the center and elaborated on its endeavors. Established in the final quarter of 2019, the center serves as a hub for innovation, creation, and incubation, fostering entrepreneurial capabilities at AIT in partnership with industry stakeholders. Its primary objective is to bolster the socio-economic development of the region by equipping students and faculty with a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Trau underscored that the core vision of AIT EC is to transform the ideas of students, faculty, and alumni into tangible outcomes that finally support AIT’s quest for “social impact through innovation.” He highlighted several initiatives, including expert talk series, hackathons, workshops, the Hult Prize Competition, and hybrid events, all aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among the AIT ecosystems. He also announced the recent launch of a Minor in Entrepreneurship program, offering students the opportunity to cultivate their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Additionally, other members of the EC team also introduced themselves, including Ms. Prajakta (Administrator), Mr. Earth (Engineer), Ms. Prativa (Student Assistant), and Mr. Gottabaya (Photographer). Following the introductions, Dr. Lakeesha, an External Consultant, presented the Green Toolkit developed by AIT EC, tailored specifically for young entrepreneurs embarking on their business ventures.

The event reached its climax with the announcement of the winners of the SDG AIT Summer School-Hack for Health competition. The RSK team and TB AI secured first place, earning a prize of 25,000 Baht, while TB CareMate was the second runner-up, receiving a prize of 10,000 Baht. The event concluded with enthusiastic applause, followed by a networking tea session.

Overall, the AIT Entrepreneurship Open House offered valuable insights to AIT’s students, inspiring them to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. This aligns with the AIT’s and the Center’s mission to become net zero by 2030 by fostering greater innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic relevance.
