AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto official mission to Taiwan from  26th – 29th September 2023

AIT delegations led by AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto together with Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director, Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs, Dr. Kuo-Chieh (Geoff) Chao, Associate Professor & Department Head, SET and Ms. Chotiros Mongkolchotirat, Director and Executive Secretary, Office of the President met with the following key persons as below:

Courtesy call to MAA Chairman and MoU signing ceremony between AIT and MOH AND ASSOCIATES, INC. (MAA)

On 27th September 2023, AIT President paid a courtesy call to Dr. Za-Chieh Moh, Chairman of MAA and discussed on the possibility to explore the collaboration on Research and other capacity areas to work together. 

A  Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on academic exchange, Industry-University Joint Research, Academic Support, Student internships for AIT students in CIE Department, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), and employment opportunities.

Also attending the meeting were Ms. Joanne, Mei-Yen Chung, Executive Director, AITAA Taiwan Chapter and senior management staff of MAA.

AIT President meet with Prof. InMing Lee, President of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Prof. Ta-Chin Wei, Dean of Office of International and Cross Strait Education, and Management Team at the Office of Internalization Promotion and Faculty members of Department of Environment Engineering.

Two AIT students in the School of Environment, Resources and Development enrolled at CYCU as Student Exchange for one semester (September 2023 to January 2024) to take courses at CYCU and transfer the credits back to AIT to complete their requirements for Master Program at AIT. The CYCU President mentioned in the meeting to continuing the Student Exchange Program with AIT for the next batch.   

Also discussed in the meeting to explore possible Capacity Building opportunity for Faculty Exchange between the two Institute especially in the areas of Engineering and Environmental Development, as well as the collaboration on Digital Trend with SDG activity. 

AIT President expressed his sincere thanks to Prof. In-Ming Lee and his Management Team members for a warm welcome and the ensuing fruitful discussion on further collaboration with CYCU especially their Department of Engineering and Environmental Development.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between AIT and Chailease Holding Co., Ltd

On 28th September 2023, MoU signing ceremony between AIT and Chailease Holdings Group were signed. The Chairman, Mr. Albert Chen agreed to sponsor Master’s scholarship for one-year Master of Science in Business Analytics and Digital Transformation (BADT) program at SOM for the Human Resource Development and capacity building of Chailease employees. 

Two employees from Chailease Thailand Office, are enrolled at the School of Management (SOM) in August 2023 intake and one Vietnamese staff from Chailease Vietnam Office, will enroll in one year BADT program at AIT Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City for October 2023 intake.

Dinner meeting with AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) Taiwan Chapter President, Prof. Cherng Tyan Su and Senior Alumni

About 32 senior alumni attended the dinner which was arranged by the AITAA Taiwan ROC Chapter. 

The senior alumni mentioned to continuing support to their alma matter and for future collaboration between AIT and AITAA Taiwan Chapter.  Also mentioned on the utilization of the TWD 3 million donation funds collected by the Chapter for future utilization needs of AIT towards Research and Training Workshops that will benefit Taiwan alumni as well as other AITAA alumni groups.

A dinner gathering in honor of Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto 

The dinner gathering was arranged by very senior Taiwan alumni together with Emeritus Prof. Dr. Za-Cheih Moh, Chairman and Co-Founder of MAA, Mr. Richard Jen-Chuen Moh, Chairman of MAA and Mr. Alex Moh together with the AIT delegation.

Prof. Y.Y. Tseng the Chairman of ASE Group and in-charge of the Taiwan alumni fundraising campaign further discussed the utilization of TWD 3 million which is already received through the generous donations of the Taiwan alumni.
