16 September 2023 – Prof. Anil Kumar Anal, Professor in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology (FEBT) and Food Innovation, Nutrition and Health (FINH) of the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), has recently edited a book, namely “Pandemics and Innovative Food Systems ” published by CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group Ltd.
This book aims to highlight the impact of the pandemic on food systems and nutrition security and provides knowledge by describing the innovations in the generation of resources and technologies to meet the rising demand for healthy and sustainable food. The recent pandemic has given rise to increased food and nutrition insecurity for individuals, families, and communities. To sustainably feed the world’s growing population, reduce malnutrition, and improve public health, major changes in food systems are required. The book draws on the experiences from past and present pandemics to better prepare the world for future crises.
This book is aimed at researchers, graduate students, policy developers, and professionals in food science, nutrition and dietetics, public health, pharmacy, and biomedical science.
