Mr. Thomas R.M. Bain has been appointed as Acting Dean for the School of Management at the Asian Institute of Technology.
Mr. Bain brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having taught at SOM for the past three years, specializing in Capital Markets. His impressive background includes a distinguished academic career as a Professor of Science Practice in Financial Mathematics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an Adjunct Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His professional journey includes leadership roles at prominent business institutions. He served as Director at Barclays Wealth and held Managing Director positions at JP Morgan, overseeing divisions such as Head of Fixed Income Sales (Tokyo), Emerging Markets Strategies, and EMEA Markets Client Strategies. He also served as the Global Head of Graduate Recruiting & Training.
Mr. Bain holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a program renowned for its consistent top-ranking performance worldwide. SOM is embracing a global best practice that business schools around the world increasingly adopt by welcoming an adjunct professor into a leadership role.
In his capacity as Acting Dean, Mr. Bain will primarily focus on enhancing the student experience, strengthening the promotion and marketing of SOM’s programs, and expanding the school’s corporate outreach efforts.
