9 October 2023: Students from the Natural Resources Management (NRM) program at the School of Environment, Resources, and Development, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), participated in a field lab in Rayong Province from 6–8 October 2023, guided by faculty members.

The NRM team visited Baanwin Farm, where they observed low-carbon farming techniques, including biochar production, IoT-based irrigation, and organic composting. These practices contribute to improving soil health and mitigating climate change.
At the Khao Hinsorn Royal Development Study Center, students learned about smart water management, the self-sufficiency theory, reforestation, and integrated farming, all aimed at enhancing ecosystem services and improving local livelihoods.
The visit to Suphattraland highlighted the balance between fruit cultivation, rubber plantations, and tourism, showcasing sustainable agricultural practices.
The Phra Chedi Klang Nam Mangrove Learning Center and Rayong Botanical Garden underscored the vital roles of mangroves and wetlands in supporting biodiversity, carbon storage, and climate resilience.
These field activities were invaluable for both local farmers and AIT students, sparking new ideas for future research and sustainable practices.
