17 November 2023: The Kasetratikarn Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC) in Thailand convened the second Executive Committee meeting chaired by Mr. Nawanit Phonken, Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The objective of the meeting was to set the time frame and process for recruiting civil servants of the Ministry of Education to receive scholarships to study at the master’s and doctoral levels at the Asian Institute of Technology for the fiscal year 2024. Held at the ministry’s meeting room in Bangkok, the agenda included significant points to enhance the scholarship program for MoAC civil servants.
The meeting opened with the Chairman’s report, followed by the approval of minutes from the first committee meeting of the year. A significant focus was on the Chairman’s second report, which discussed developing a relationship system among the MoAC scholarship recipients. This initiative will foster knowledge exchange, academic dialogue, and networking.

Additionally, the committee reviewed the educational outcomes of the scholarship program for MoAC personnel studying at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). This retrospective covered the inception of the scholarship in 2003 up to the present, outlining the progression across five distinct phases.
Furthermore, the committee deliberated on the financial allocations for the upcoming fiscal year and established criteria for the selection of civil servants to receive scholarships for master’s and doctoral studies at AIT in 2024. This step marks a continued investment in the professional development of MoAC staff and signifies the Ministry’s commitment to advancing agricultural education and cooperative initiatives.

AIT officials included Prof. Abdul Salam, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD); Prof. Sangam Shrestha, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr. Kamonkanok Kiatisakchai; Assistant Dean of the School of Management (SOM); Ms. Sarina Pradhan Thapa from SERD, Ms. Alistina Shrestha from SET and Mr. Samuch Oupala from the Office of Thailand Affairs.
