1 November 2023: AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto and Mr. Tiger Leong, President of AITAA Malaysia Chapter, came together to sign an agreement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This agreement entails the establishment of One Full Master’s scholarship in the amount of THB 1 million intended for the August 2024 intake. The scholarship will be exclusively available to Malaysian student who will enroll in any of the three schools at AIT: School of Engineering and Technology (SET), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), and School of Management (SOM). The specific programs to be supported by the scholarship will be determined by the generous donors.
President Yamamoto stated he is grateful to the support of AITAA Malaysia Chapter President, Mr. Tiger Leong, Mr. Low Hui Seng and other alumni in Malaysia for providing the scholarship. In addition, President Yamamoto thanked Datuk Ir. Tan Chin Nyan, CEO of Bridgex who supported THB 1 million for the August 2023 intake and for his previous similar THB 1 million Master’s scholarships to AIT.
Also attending the ceremony were: Dr. Leong Geok Wen, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaysia; Dr. Roger Levermore, Vice President for Development, Mr. Low Hui Seng (AIT Alumnus, Energy 1984), Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs. We are also honored by the presence of Mr. Taweechai Termkunanon, AITAA Headquarters president in the ceremony.
