Meeting with Datuk Hajah Lakshmi, CEO of Sabah International Convention Center

The Sabah International Convention Center facilities are state of the art and the CEO is interested to bring in more International conferences, seminars, trainings to the convention center to showcase the location for hosting international events and showing the State of Sabah as a natural conservation.

We discussed possibilities for AIT Extension inviting its partner countries from the South Asian region in collaboration with the Sawit Business Leadership Academy and Sabah International Convention Center to host international training programs at the convention center on Women Development in Asian region, Leadership training for Corporate sector, and showcasing activities that Sabah State has promoted especially in their forest towards Environmental and Nature conservation.

Meeting with Dr. Shanti Raj, CEO of First Future Com Ltd with Dr. Edwin Varo, Principal Consultant & Program Director, Sawit Kinabalu Business Leadership Academy; Dr. Roger Levermore, Mr. Voravate (Joe) Chonlasin and Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe to discuss the details of the presentation and workshop in ESG to CEO’s and MD’s of Government Link Companies scheduled for week of 19 February 2024.

Sawit Kinabalu, also known as the Sabah Softwoods Berhad Group, is a Malaysian company that is primarily involved in the cultivation and processing of oil palm in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. The company also engages in the production of oil palm seedlings for its own plantations and for sale to other growers.  In addition, the company is committed to sustainable and responsible practices in its operations, including efforts to minimize the environmental impact of oil palm cultivation and support the welfare of local communities.

Sawit Kinabalu Business Leadership Academy (SKBLA) is part of Sawit Kinabalu Group (SKG) and is the only Business Leadership Academy owned by a Government Linked Company (GLC) in the State of Sabah, Malaysia.  Its establishment came about from the aspiration of the Group Managing Director, Datuk Bacho Jansie to produce future-ready leaders as well as to support the State Government’s Human Capital Development initiatives.

In the meeting we discussed on the workshop to CEO’s and MD’s of Government Link companies organized by Sawit Business Leadership Academy where Dr. Roger Levermore, Vice President for Development and Mr. Voravate Chonlasin, Executive Director of AIT Extension will deliver the talk. 

This half-day BizTalk takes place in the context of an ever-evolving global environment, where businesses encounter diverse and intricate challenges, necessitating inventive strategies for sustainable development and adaptability. This session explores the strategic integration of ESG values with scenario planning, illustrating how visionary companies employ this potent fusion to ensure their long-term prosperity.

Mr. Victor Ationg, Group Managing Director of Sawit Kinabalu Sdn Bhd confirmed and he is looking forward to the first series “Workshop Striving Corporate Strategies Towards Business Sustainability” scheduled for week of 19 February 2024.
