16 January 2024: On January 15, a student interaction session featuring Prof. David I. McLean was conducted. The session proved to be a unique opportunity for students to connect with Prof. McLean. This initial interaction set the stage for a dynamic exchange, allowing students to share their experiences at AIT and express their viewpoints on various aspects of their academic journey.

In a lively and insightful exchange, students seized the opportunity to pose questions to Prof. McLean, gaining valuable insights into student life at Colorado State University. The cross-cultural dialogue touched upon various aspects, including the academic environment, research initiatives, and the overall student experience at Prof. McLean’s university.

“The student interaction session was incredibly enlightening. Hearing about the experiences and aspirations of AIT students and having the chance to share insights from Colorado State University created a bridge between our academic worlds,” remarked Prof. David I. McLean.

The discussion not only highlighted the similarities in student experiences but also provided a platform for AIT students to learn about the kind of research activities undertaken at Colorado State University. Brief CV of Prof. David I. McLean:

Prof. David I. McLean is Emeritus Dean of Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at Colorado State University. He has been involved in engineering design, education, and research for more than 43 years. Prof. McLean’s research expertise is in structural engineering with primary applications to the sustainable design of the built environment. He is the author of more than 100 refereed papers, technical reports, monographs, and book chapters. Prof. McLean has received numerous regional and national awards for his research, teaching, advising, and consulting activities. Prof. McLean currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Asian Institute of Technology.
