AIT Opens Doors to Global Career Paths at ASEAN Career Fair in Singapore

28 January 2024: AIT students participated in the ASEAN Career Fair with Japan held in Singapore on January 27, 2024, underscoring AIT’s unwavering commitment to student career development. The career fair is by invitation only and was facilitated by the ASEAN Career Fair (ACF) with Japan Committee in collaboration with Energize, Inc.

The thirteen students who attended the event were initially informed about the ASEAN Career Fair with Japan during the AIT Career Fair in October 2023. The travel grants provided by the fair’s organizers, the ASEAN Career Fair (ACF) with Japan Committee in collaboration with Energize Inc., enabled them to participate in this initiative. Recognized for connecting the best talents from Southeast Asia with leading Japanese firms, the fair allowed AIT students to explore diverse cultures and business practices from ASEAN countries and Japan, broadening their career horizons.

“Attending the fair was an invaluable experience,” said Keshav Raj Pokhrel, an MBA student. “I am grateful for the scholarship that made it possible and the chance to connect with industry leaders in Singapore. Interacting with esteemed companies like AGC Group and Lion Corporation provided insights into potential career paths. Cultural immersion in Singapore enhanced my job prospects and understanding of Japanese employers’ expectations,” he added. 

The fair featured twenty companies, showcasing opportunities across various industries namely AGC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.; H.U. Group Holdings, Inc.;

HENNGE K.K.; Kozo Keikaku Engineering, Inc.; Lion Corporation; Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.; Murata Electronics Singapore (PTE) Ltd.; Nippon Pillar Packing Co., Ltd.; Penta-Ocean Construction Co. Ltd.; TDK Electronics Indonesia; TDK Electronics (Malaysia) SDN. BHD.; Softem Inc.; Tomato Co., Ltd.; and ESG-IREC. This diverse lineup offered students various career paths in leading Japanese companies, covering fields from engineering and electronics to IT and construction. 

The ASEAN Career Fair with Japan exemplifies AIT’s enduring commitment to enhancing students’ employability in an ever-globalizing professional landscape. This initiative is one of many aimed at elevating students’ awareness and equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate real-world challenges. AIT remains dedicated to educating students not only for current careers but also for future opportunities, fostering cross-cultural competencies, and expanding professional horizons beyond traditional boundaries.

Ms. Joan Carla Gonzales, Ms. Maricel Perez, Ms. Emelyn Fe Mission, and Ms. Maria Avegail Perez from the Office of Student Affairs represented AIT at the fair. Their presence underscored AIT’s dedication to preparing students for global job markets by facilitating direct interactions with top Japanese companies.
