3 April 2024: The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and FDI Accounting and Advisory Co., Ltd. (FDI) have formed a strategic partnership to foster collaboration between academia and industry. This partnership was made official through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto and President of FDI Group, Mrs. Patcharaporn Wechwitayakhlung on April 2, 2024.

The MoU aims to provide comprehensive assistance for companies in Thailand during the registration process, as well as in the application for Board of Investment (BOI) privileges. The purpose of the collaboration between the parties is to enhance knowledge exchange and business consultancy in the fields of business, technology, and research and development. This collaboration will involve the participation of faculty, staff, and students, and will foster better understanding through shared services such as site visits and lectures.
Professor Kazuo Yamamoto expressed his gratitude for the joint efforts that led to this partnership. He highlighted AIT’s dedication to offering innovative education and research that align with the requirements of industry partners such as FDI. “This partnership demonstrates our commitment to promoting an ecosystem where academia and industry can collaborate seamlessly for mutual growth and development,” said Professor Yamamoto.
Mrs. Patcharaporn Wechwitayakhlung highlighted the synergy between AIT’s academic excellence and FDI’s industry expertise. She remarked, “Through this collaboration, we aspire to enhance our contributions to sustainable development and technological innovation. We are excited to embark on this journey with AIT and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will unfold.”
Representatives of FDI included Ms. Nantaphat Na Songkhla, Business Development Manager and Assistant to the President, and Mr Tomoco Arai, Deputy Manager. Representing AIT were AIT Mr. Russell Bruce Rein, Vice President for Administration, AIT; Ms. Chotiros Mongkolchotirat, Director, Office of the President; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director, International Affairs, Office of International Public Affairs; Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director, Public Affairs, OIPA; Ms. Glaziel Kae Go Tagamolila, Finance Officer, AIT BOI Science and Technology Park Coordination Office and Ms. Jiraporn Judeerak, Liaison to BOI, AIT BOI Science and Technology Park Coordination Office.
Both AIT and FDI have expressed their optimism about the potential impacts of their collaboration, especially in areas such as technology, management, and sustainable development. This partnership is expected to benefit not only the institutions involved but also the broader community by promoting research, innovation, and business development.
