11 April 2024: The AIT Entrepreneurship Center (EC) organized a study tour for students on 10 April 2024, to observe the latest eco-friendly house construction methods. The tour was attended by a total of 10 participants, including students, staff members, and professors. The delegation had the privilege to visit a construction company owned by an esteemed AIT alumnus and EC Mentor, Mr. Bhargab Mohan Das.
The purpose of the visit was twofold: to explore a new on-site concrete precast method for rapid house construction and to foster collaboration between AIT and Mr. Bhargab’s company.
Dr. Chaitanya Krishna Gadagamma and Mr. Binay Karna led a visit that provided students from the STE program with the opportunity to engage with organizers and contractors. During the visit, the students gained valuable insights into eco-friendly construction practices and observed precast structures being constructed on-site. They also explored the premium features of houses that were under construction.
Mr. Bhargab emphasized the importance of community service over profit, highlighting the shared commitment to collaboration between AIT EC and his company. The visit provided students with practical exposure to construction processes and also served as an opportunity to establish future partnerships. Prof. Trau and Mr. Bhargab proposed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and follow-up projects. Overall, the tour was a productive endeavor, nurturing innovation and fostering connections within the construction industry.
