20 May 2024: Professor Dr. Harald Platen, Head of the Master’s Program in Environmental, Hygiene and Safety Engineering (EHS) at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) University of Applied Sciences, Germany visited AIT on Monday, 20 May 2024 to discuss potential collaborative activities and handover the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The MoU signified the mutual commitment of AIT and THM to promote academic excellence, exchange of students, faculty and staff, short-term academic programs, new form of studying, collaborative research projects, doctoral thesis supervision, and joint conferences.
The collaboration was initiated in February 2024 when AIT welcomed delegation from THM, Germany including Prof. Dr. Rahamatullah Khondoker, Professor of IT Security and Digitalization, Department of Business Informatics, MND and Prof. Dr. Andreas Penirschke, Professor & Coordinator, CCCE Master Programme. During their visit, the THM’s Professors met with AIT’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi; Dean SET, Prof. Sangam Shrestha; Head of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Department, SET Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Ninsawat; Director of International Affairs, Dr. Sumana Shrestha; Senior Program Officer-International Affairs, Ms. Sirima Sirimattayanan; and Program Officer, Special Degree Programs, Mr. Arthur Lance Gonzales.

On 20 May 2024, The official handover ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between AIT and THM was attended by Professor Dr. Harald Platen, Professor of Applied Environmental Sciences and Head of the Master’s Program in Environmental, Hygiene and Safety Engineering (EHS) from THM Germany; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wenchao Xue, Program Chair, EEM/SERD and Director of Belt and Road Research Center; Asst.
