At the 141st AIT Graduation Ceremony on 17 May 2024, the AIT community gathered to celebrate the graduation of 249 postgraduate students who joined the global alumni diaspora of over 26,000 in over 100 countries.

The graduation took place in separate sessions for the School of Engineering and Technology in the morning and the School of Environment, Resources and Development, and the School of Management in the afternoon. A large contingent of diplomats and dignitaries graced the day-long event attended by faculty, family, and friends of the graduates.

Dr. Harry Kasuma (Kiwi) Aliwarga, an alumnus of SET 1995 and CEO of UMG Group of Companies in Myanmar, celebrated the graduates’ hard work and emphasized the significance of their achievements, stating, “Life is an amazing adventure, and today, you are progressing to the next level. Congratulations on reaching this milestone.”

He advised the graduates that if we do not challenge ourselves to embrace complexity and confront difficulties head-on, we will remain stuck. “To reach remarkable destinations, we must move forward,” he said.

Reflecting on his career, he shared, “Working in cyclical conditions made me wiser. Facing challenges, I chose to become a player in the digital revolution. Investing in technology that benefits the community and the planet was worth the journey. We cannot be afraid to rebel, think differently, and pursue our beliefs.”

All that I have achieved is thanks to the EMBA knowledge I gained here.”

Ms. Bhiramon highlighted AIT’s role in transforming her from a food scientist to a business leader. “AIT enabled me to understand business, which has been instrumental in building my career.” She urged graduates to remember their unique preparation at AIT and introduced the acronym GIVES as a guide: G: Give back to society; I: Integrity and empathy; V: Value meaningful relationships; E: Embrace challenges; and S: Stay passionate.
