AIT ICT Faculty Visits PPIU to Explore Collaborative Opportunities

9 May 2024: Faculty members from the department of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) recently visited the Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) to strengthen academic partnerships and explore collaborative opportunities. Dr. Chaklam Silpasuwanchai and Dr. Chantri Polprasert from ICT discussed with PPIU officials to explore potential joint initiatives and academic exchanges.

Last year, AIT’s ICT department took a significant step towards strengthening academic ties with PPIU by welcoming two promising lecturers from PPIU to the Computer Science Masters Program. This exchange not only enhanced the educational experiences of the students but also established the groundwork for deeper institutional collaboration between the two esteemed universities.

During their visit, Dr. Chaklam and Dr. Chantri played pivotal roles in advising on PPIU’s computer science curriculum design, with a special focus on cutting-edge areas such as Big Data, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Their expertise and insights are expected to significantly contribute to the enhancement of PPIU’s academic programs, ensuring that students receive a proper education aligned with the latest industry trends and technological advancements. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both institutions to foster academic excellence and innovation in the realm of computer science education.

About PPIU

Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) was founded in 2002 under the name ASEAN University. The university was renamed Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) in 2006. PPIU has four faculties (Faculty of Business and Tourism, Faculty of Laws and Economics, Faculty of Education Science, and Faculty of Science and IT), a Post-Graduate Program (Master’s Degree and PhD), and one Vocational Training Center.
