AIT welcomes Mr. Tan Seng Chuan for Collaborative Discussions

24 July 2024: AIT School of Engineering and Technology (SET) welcomed Mr. Tan Seng Chuan, Managing Director and Board Chair of Tembusu Asia Consulting, Singapore today. His visit focused on exploring potential collaborations with AIT.

The AIT delegates present at the meeting included Prof. Sangam Shrestha, Dean of SET; Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary; Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director, Public Affairs, Office of International & Public Affairs (OIPA); Ms. Indra Kumari, Senior Program Officer, International Affairs, OIPA; and Ms. Alistina Shrestha, Manager of Marketing, Recruitment, and Digital Strategy, SET.

The meeting began with Prof. Sangam Shrestha introducing SET and highlighting our academic programs and research initiatives. Following this, Mr. Tan Seng Chuan presented an overview of his projects, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and Tembusu Asia Consulting, showcasing their impressive work in sustainability and engineering. The meeting discussed collaboration in research projects such as flood control and decarbonization, capacity-building initiatives, executive programs, and more.

Dean Sangam Shrestha expressed his happiness about Mr. Tan Seng Chuan’s visit and his excitement about the potential of the collaboration. Prof. Sangam Shrestha’s statement, “We are happy to have you here. Your interest in collaboration aligns with our commitment to innovation and sustainability,” left a lasting positive impression on all present, assuring the success of our future endeavors.

Mr. Tan Seng Chuan remarked, “I am excited about the potential for a fruitful partnership. I look forward to collaborating on projects that will drive sustainable solutions.”

Further discussions were held regarding internship opportunities for AIT students. Mr. Tan Seng Chuan also toured the Environmental Engineering and Management Lab, gaining insights into our cutting-edge research and facilities. He then had a productive meeting with Prof. P. Abdul Salam, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources, and Development, to discuss collaborative opportunities further.

This visit marks the beginning of promising collaborative ventures to drive innovation and sustainable solutions. We eagerly look forward to exploring these opportunities together and fostering a relationship that will significantly contribute to our shared goals.
