Prof. Yuosre Badir Appointed Acting Dean of the School of Management at AIT

15 July 2024: Prof. Yuosre Badir has been appointed as Acting Dean for the School of Management (SOM) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

Prof. Badir was promoted to Full Professor in January 2024. He joined AIT as an Assistant Professor in SOM in 2008 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2015.

He holds a Ph.D. in Management of Technology and a Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, which he obtained in 2006 and 2000, respectively.

Before completing his Ph.D., Prof. Badir served as a Visiting Scholar (Business) at New York University in the U.S. in 2005. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Putra Malaysia (1998) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Benghazi, Libya (1993).

Prof. Badir’s research encompasses technology management, innovation and new product development, strategic alliances, innovation in emerging market SMEs, green innovation, green (low-carbon) technology assessment, digital transformation of emerging markets’ SMEs, and employee innovativeness.

He has co-edited four books: “Maisons Tropicales” (2020), “Business and Management in Asia: Digital Innovation and Sustainability” (2022), “Business and Management in Asia: Disruption and Change” (2023), and “Tropical House Design Handbook” (2024).

As Acting Dean, Prof. Badir will focus on improving the student experience, promoting SOM’s programs, and expanding the school’s corporate outreach initiatives.
