On October 29, 2024, a delegation from AIT, led by Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nitin K. Tripathi, visited King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). They were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT and an AIT alumnus who earned his doctoral degree in Energy in 1990. The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential joint research funding and other collaborative opportunities between the two institutions.

KMUTT is a prominent public engineering and technology university in Thailand, renowned for its focus on teaching and research, and it was the first public university in the country to gain full autonomy.
The discussions centered around several possible collaborations, including the development of joint academic programs such as an International Integrated Bachelor-Master’s Program and dual degree programs for Master’s and PhD students. The Faculty of Engineering at KMUTT aims to partner with AIT’s School of Environment and Resources Development and School of Engineering and Technology to organize seminars and workshops, while also identifying areas for joint research and academic collaboration. Additionally, both institutions agreed to share information about their respective events, with AIT offering summer internships for KMUTT students lasting 2-3 months and hosting a Bootcamp for 3-4 days focused on specific high-tech areas.
