22 October 2024: The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)’s Office of Special Degree Programs (SDP) recently concluded its two-week International Education Innovation Camp for Business & Management, held from October 8 to 21, 2024. The program aimed to provide students with business and management backgrounds with a global perspective and exposure to emerging trends in their field.

Forty-six management students from the Roorkee Institute of Technology (RIT) in Uttarakhand, India, participated in the camp, accompanied and guided by RIT faculty member Dr. Anil Yadav. This student mobility initiative aligns with AIT’s goal of strengthening its global network and fostering collaboration with educational institutions worldwide.
Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Executive Director of the SDP, designed and established this student mobility program, which has been running since 2009. Under the theme “Ignite, Innovate, and Inspire,” the program aims to expose undergraduate students to cutting-edge technologies through state-of-the-art seminars and hands-on sessions. Its primary objective is to help students explore their interests, develop innovative ideas, become influential figures in their communities, and inspire them to pursue higher education.

The camp focused on global perspectives in business and management, featuring interactive sessions on emerging trends led by AIT faculty members and guest expert lecturers. Key topics covered in the program included Business Information Management, Geo-crowdsourcing for Mobile Business Data Acquisition, ChatGPT and Generative AI for Business Growth, Business GIS, Market Entry Strategies for Agribusiness Management, a workshop on Interpersonal and Cross-Cultural Communications, Design Thinking in Business Processes, Digital Marketing, Strategic Management, Social Business, AI for Idea Creation and Development, and many more.
In addition to academic learning, students had the opportunity to gain cultural and industry exposure through various field trips. These included exploring the Safari World & Marine Park, visiting our partner institution, Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), experiencing Bangkok city life at Asiatique, and enjoying an exciting shopping spree at MBK and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest open markets in the region.
The program successfully concluded with the awarding of certificates and various honors during the closing gala dinner.
