Mr. Nyan Khine Soe and Ms. Yin Lai Yee Oo, a couple from Myanmar who completed their Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering and Management in 2006, have generously donated to renovate a single-unit student dormitory in Dorm F. A recognition plaque featuring the names of Nyan Khine Soe, Yin Lai Yee Oo, and their son, Alex Phone Myat Nyan Khine, will be displayed at the entrance of the dormitory unit.
AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li remarked that this contribution will significantly improve the living conditions of the students, providing them a more comfortable environment during their studies in AIT. Furthermore, he also conveyed his appreciation to Nyan Khine Soe and Yin Lai Yee Oo for their dedication to giving back to their alma mater, emphasizing their strong commitment to education and student’s well-being.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of OAAA, thanked Nyan Khine Soe & Yin Lai Yee Oo for their past donation and recent donation towards the renovation of a single-unit student dormitory. The naming of the room in Dorm F is just one example of the many ways in which AIT alumni continue to make a positive impact on the present & future students.
