28 November 2024: The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur), India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for a dual degree master program on 28 November 2024 to strengthen their institutional relationship through collaboration in academics, research, capacity building, training, and faculty development activities.
Apart from the dual degree master program, which will commence in 2025, this partnership outlines a broad scope of initiatives, including joint research projects, and the organization of workshops and conferences. It also includes staff and faculty development programs, capacity building, specialized training, and short-term student mobility opportunities such as education camps or internships.
Prof. Pai-Chi Li, AIT President remarked, “This collaboration is quite promising, and I am confident it will be productive. Considering current trends in education, I believe we can work together to achieve better results.”
Prof. (Dr.) Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, stating that partnering with AIT will bring significant value to IIM Sambalpur. He added that this partnership opens new opportunities for students, faculty, and the institution as a whole.
From AIT, the signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Yuosre Badir, Acting Dean of the School of Management; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director of International Affairs at OIPA; Mr. M. Zia Islam, Executive Assistant to the Dean of SOM and Coordinator and Ms. Naphassorn Chaimongkol, Program Officer, International Affairs, OIPA.
