On February 25, 2025, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and National Taipei University of Technology (TAIPEI TECH), Taiwan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Student Exchange Agreement to enhance academic and research collaboration.


This partnership will facilitate a range of collaborative activities including joint research activities, joint research activities, faculty and staff exchanges, student exchanges, dual degree program development, and sharing of scientific materials and publications. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate the conduct of joint seminars, workshops, conferences, and a Mandarin language exchange program. Opportunities for further mutual activities will also be explored under this agreement.
The University-wide Exchange Program agreement will allow up to five master’s and doctoral students to participate in exchanges each semester, enhancing their academic exposure and experience.


Prof. Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT, highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership: “Taipei Tech has significantly contributed to Taiwan’s economic development, a mission that resonates with AIT’s goal to train future leaders to tackle regional challenges and foster growth. Today, we embark on several initiatives, including student exchanges and joint degree programs, marking the start of a promising long-term collaboration.”
Dr. Sea-Fue Wang, President of TAIPEI TECH, expressed his enthusiasm for the alliance: “Taipei Tech, as a practical research university, has long been at the forefront of technology and innovation, working closely with industry leaders. We are excited to deepen our collaboration with AIT through co-teaching and other educational initiatives that meet industry demands and enhance global perspectives.”

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both institutions. From TAIPEI TECH Dr. Shih-Hsuan Yang, Prof. of Computer Science and Information Engineering and Vice President and Dr. Ho-Chiao Chuang, Dean, Office of Research and Development (ORD) and Distinguished Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering were present. From AIT Prof. Sangam Shrestha, Dean SET and Co-Director of GWSC; Prof. P. Abdul Salam, Dean SERD; Dr. Sarawut Ninsawat, Department Head, ICT and Associate Professor, RS-GIS/ICT/SET; Dr. Mongkol Ekpanyapong, Associate Professor, ISE/SET; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director, OAAA; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director, International Affairs, OIPA and Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director, Public Affairs.
