On April 4, 2025, engineers from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) conducted a structural assessment at Wisutthi Kasattree School in Samut Prakan Province. The inspection aimed to evaluate the structural integrity and safety of the school buildings including both primary structural elements such as columns, beams, structural walls, and slabs, as well as non-structural components such as masonry walls and ceilings which might be affected by the earthquake that occurred on March 28, 2025.

AIT deployed a team of structural engineers with expertise in building inspections. AIT is one of the collaborating organizations within the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT), which is a national hub for engineers across various disciplines that provides engineering knowledge and support to both government agencies and the private sector. EIT plays an active role in responding to public disasters, emergencies, and critical incidents.
This building inspection was also supported by several public and private sector organizations, including the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), volunteer engineers, and the Thai Volunteer Engineers Foundation. The school director, faculty, and staff guided the engineering teams through the building areas to be assessed.

The goal of the inspection is to develop a plan for repairing and restoring any damaged structures to ensure long term safety and usability. This initiative helps to build confidence among more than 2,000 students, teachers, and staff that the school buildings are safe, structurally sound, and meet engineering standards supporting the continuity of teaching and learning in a safe environment.
