On April 8, 2025, AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li made a courtesy visit to Mr. Aloke Lohia, Vice Chairman of the Board and Group Chief Executive Officer of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL), at the company’s headquarters in Bangkok. The meeting marked a reaffirmation of the long-standing relationship between AIT and Indorama Ventures PCL to strengthen partnerships with key industry leaders to advance mutual goals in sustainability, research, and academic-industry engagement.

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL) is a leading producer of a wide range of intermediate petrochemical products operating across various business segments such as Combined PET and Packaging, Indovinya, and Fibers, serving customers in diverse growth markets, including food and beverages, automotive, pharmaceutical, textile, home and personal care, and agrochemicals. IVL’s footprint spans manufacturing operations at 117 locations in 31 countries with more than 26,000 employees and market-leading positions in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
During the visit, AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li expressed his gratitude for IVL’s continued support, including the full Master’s scholarships provided by the IVL Foundation to two AIT students, ongoing student internship, and industrial visit opportunities. He emphasized AIT’s unique strength of diverse international students from over 40 countries pursuing postgraduate programs, focusing on engineering, sustainability, and management studies. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with industry leaders like IVL to advance practical learning, innovation, and sustainability in the region.
Mr. Aloke Lohia, Vice Chairman of the Board and Group Chief Executive Officer of IVL, warmly welcomed AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li and expressed appreciation for AIT’s contribution over the past years in supporting IVL. He recognized AIT’s role in providing talented graduates who contribute meaningfully to the workforce and emphasized the IVL’s dedication to sustainability, talent development, and strategic academic partnerships to bridge industry-academic gaps.
The discussions centered on the potential for expanding current engagements by exploring the possibility of establishing an Indorama Center of Excellence at AIT, envisioned as a state-of-the-art hub fostering innovative research and development with active participation of industry experts, researchers, and students. The dialogue continued the digital transformation collaborations in AI-related fields, particularly in enhancing digital literacy across disciplines. And also, potential collaborations under the BoI Science and Technology Park initiative, joint research projects and customized capacity-building programs tailored to IVL’s needs.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Indorama Ventures 360 Gallery for the AIT delegation, which provided an immersive storytelling experience about IVL’s sustainability journey, values, and impact.

Recently, AIT and Indorama Ventures Global Services (IVGS) signed an MoA in February 2025 to expand internship opportunities and academic collaborations. Furthermore, as of now, the IVL Foundation has supported two full scholarships for AIT Master’s students. The discussion on the second round of scholarships is anticipated this year.
AIT and IVL look forward to a future of impactful collaboration, leveraging their combined strengths to address pressing global challenges and cultivate the next generation of leaders in sustainability and technology.
