Prof. Anil Kumar Anal Elected as Chair of the Academic Senate at AIT

30 April 2025: Prof. Anil Kumar Anal has been elected as the Chair of the Academic Senate at AIT, effective April 4, 2025, for a two-years term. He succeeds Prof. Manukid Parnichkun and chaired his first Academic Senate meeting on 30 April 2025. 

The Academic Senate serves as an advisory body to the President. As outlined in the Institute’s Bye-Laws “The Academic Senate is responsible to make recommendations on policies for developing and conducting academic programs and policies, reviewing and establishing curricula, awarding of degrees and diplomas, and evaluating faculty productivity and performance. Recommendations on the award of degrees and diplomas are also made by the Academic Senate. Additionally, the Academic Senate is responsible for recommending through the President to the Board nominations for the Honorary Doctorate degrees”.

Prof. Anal is a Professor in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology (FEBT) and Food Innovation, Nutrition and Health (FINH) under the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD). He joined AIT as an Assistant Professor in August 2009 and became a full Professor in 2020. An AIT alumnus, he obtained his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology from AIT, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
