Suyasha Shah, a Master’s graduate in Business Administration from the School of Management, shares her journey at AIT.
Studying abroad has always been a dream – living independently, sharing meals and stories with people from different cultures, and experiencing the freedom of shaping my own life. AIT turned that dream into reality. My journey at AIT began with a hybrid learning experience. I studied online for the first two terms and later transitioned to on-campus learning. I would say that’s where my learnings actually started, and I quickly realized I had a lot to discover.

At the School of Management (SOM), AIT offers a truly international environment where students develop both hard and soft skills. The faculty and professors don’t just teach—they mentor you to be global professionals. They treat you as an adult, offering real-world insights and transformational guidance. Their interactive teaching style prepared us for the evolving landscape of global management. The Bangkok campus, right in the center of the city added more to the cosmopolitan experience: workshops, guest lectures, networking events, and yes, even after-class parties made learning dynamic and alive. At SOM the classes became a hub for students/professionals to discuss and exchange ideas, work in groups, and at times even an impromptu pizza party zone.

Learning at AIT went beyond the classroom. As the Marketing and Promotion Lead in the Student Representative Team and a member of the SOM Student Ambassadors, I worked with a diverse, multicultural team to organize events that brought the community together. These roles deepened my appreciation for other cultures and developed a better understanding of my own. As the SOM representative of the Nepali Samaj (community), I also learned to navigate group dynamics and support a sense of belonging.

One of the biggest highlights of my journey was getting selected for an internship with The Rockefeller Foundation, something I honestly wouldn’t have even imagined without AIT. The exposure, support, and global perspective I got here gave me the confidence to pursue the opportunity. The support from my professors and peers throughout the process was invaluable, and it reaffirmed how AIT empowers its students to aim higher, think bigger, and make a global impact.

AIT has been more than an academic journey, it’s been a life experience. It gave me access to skills, perspectives, and relationships I never imagined. It challenged me to grow, to step out of my shell, and to build lasting connections across cultures. I learned to tackle complex problems, embrace change, and build harmony between my personal and professional life. As a fitness enthusiast, I couldn’t have asked for a better campus. With a swimming pool, gym, tennis, and badminton courts and many more sports facilities, AIT is a haven for sports lovers. Staying active helped me stay balanced, focused, and also build a lifelong connection with my counterparts.

Thanks to AIT, I now feel equipped with the confidence, skills, and global perspective needed to pursue my career in management and marketing. The experience has not only sharpened my professional abilities but also prepared me to lead, adapt, and thrive in diverse, fast-changing environments. AIT didn’t just prepare me for a job—it prepared me for a lifelong journey of growth.
