17 June 2025 – The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Sarala Birla University (SBU), India, officially established a partnership on 17 June 2025 to foster collaboration between the two institutions in academic programs, research, student and faculty mobility, and capacity building.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to establish the framework for several key areas, including the development of an International Unified Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Program, joint conferences, faculty development and capacity-building initiatives, short-term student mobility programs, and collaborative training and research activities.

Prof. Manukid Parnichkun, Vice President for Academic and Research at AIT, stated: “The MoU outlines a wide range of promising and mutually beneficial collaborations. We look forward to initiating these activities soon and are confident it will bring significant benefits to both institutions.”

Prof. (Dr.) Jeganathan Chockalingam, Vice Chancellor, SBU commented, “We are delighted to explore collaborations with AIT. With our shared values in academic excellence, research, and sustainability, we aim to build a meaningful partnership that benefits both our students and society.”
The delegation from SBU included, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean of Faculty of Commerce & Director, IQAC; Dr. Bishwarup Samanta, Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Computer Sciences; Dr. Manoj Pandey, Head, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Dr. Ria Mukherjee, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Linguistics and Head, Department of English; Mr. Ajay Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Journalism & Mass Communication; Dr. Meeta Vverma , Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering; Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Dr. Sweta Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce; Dr. Sagar Sarangi, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Dr. Utsav Vishal, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.

AIT officials included Prof. Nitin K.
