An alumnus from the School of Management (SOM), Class of 1995, has generously pledged his support for the renovation of a single-unit student dormitory room in Dorm F at AIT. This meaningful contribution is made in loving memory of Mr. Sandeep Mohapatra, a former SOM student who passed away under tragic circumstances.

Prof. Siddharth K. Jabade, Vice President for Administration and Development, noted that such profound and sustained commitment from alumni is truly rare. He highlighted that contributions made from a sincere desire to give back—particularly those aimed at long-term impact—are deeply valued by the Institute. Acts like these not only strengthen the relationship between alumni and AIT, but also serve as a powerful source of inspiration for future graduates.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, shared that it is always a pleasure and privilege to connect with alumni. He emphasized that alumni contributions significantly enhance both the academic and residential experiences of current students while opening doors for future generations. Mr. Jayasinghe further remarked that such acts of generosity cultivate a strong culture of giving and reinforce the spirit of unity, gratitude, and shared success within the AIT alumni network worldwide. Furthermore, as per the donor’s wish to remain anonymous, no photograph of the donor will be included in this announcement.
With this new donation and together with the contributions from the individual alumni, national chapters, and alumni groups, over 30+ rooms have been successfully renovated and pledged, and we are confident that all 40 rooms in Dormitory F will be renovated shortly.
Also present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Bhaskaran Jacob, Senior Advancement Officer and Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, Senior Alumni Affairs Officer from the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.
