Ms. Nyein Thinzar Zaw receives the AIT Alumni Scholarship for the August 2025 intake

Ms. Nyein Thinzar Zaw, a Master’s student from Myanmar, has been awarded the AIT Alumni Scholarship for the August 2025 intake. She is currently enrolled in the International Finance program under the School of Management at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic potential, leadership qualities, and a commitment to making positive impact in their communities.

On 4 September 2025, Ms. Nyein Thinzar Zaw was formally presented with the scholarship certificate. This award not only supports her academic journey at AIT but also reflects the continued commitment of the AIT alumni community to fostering development of future leaders across Asia and beyond.

Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs (OAAA), expressed his congratulations to Ms. Nyein. He stated that this scholarship would not only enrich her academic journey but also serve as a source of motivation for her to strive for excellence in her future endeavors.  He also thanks the alumni community whose contributed towards the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Dr. Donald M. Ugsang, President of the AIT Alumni Association (AITAA), also extended his congratulations to Ms. Nyein and highlighted the vital role that scholarships play in supporting deserving students. He emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Ms. Zaw expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity, stating that receiving the AIT Alumni Scholarship is both an honor and a source of motivation. She shared that the scholarship will significantly ease her financial burden, allowing her to fully focus on her academic pursuits. She also conveyed her appreciation to the AIT alumni community for their generous support, which she believes will inspire her to strive for excellence and give back to the Institute in the near future.

The ceremony was attended by members of the AIT Alumni Association Executive Committee: Dr. Zakir M. Hossain, Executive Secretary; Md. Anishur Rahman, Public Relations Officer; Ms. Shoon Lae Moe, Program Officer, and Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, Senior Alumni Affairs Officer, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.
