6 September 2025 – The Asian Institute of Technology, Entrepreneurship Center (AIT EC), together with WSI Co. Ltd. (representing DN69 Family) and partners, successfully hosted SEED 1.0: Sustainable Ecosystems, Entrepreneurship & Design Workshop from 4 to 6 September 2025. The three-day immersive program brought together youth leaders, changemakers, and sustainability enthusiasts to explore eco-friendly living, traditional knowledge, and entrepreneurial opportunities in building climate-resilient communities.

Against the backdrop of growing climate challenges and resource depletion, SEED 1.0 emphasized reconnecting with nature as a means of achieving sustainable living, both as a lifestyle and a livelihood. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants engaged in earthen home construction, organic farming, composting, and seed preservation while also exploring sustainable entrepreneurship and circular design thinking as pathways for community well-being and climate resilience.

Day 1 focused on orientation and visioning, with sessions on GROW DN69 and the role of IT and IoT in sustainability.

Day 2 explored earthen homes and sustainable living, featuring discussions on AIT’s Habitech interlocking brick technology, Adobe architecture and permaculture, and an inspiring keynote by Mr. Jon Jandai on self-reliance and simplicity, followed by a dynamic panel on turning sustainability into action.

The final Day 3 highlighted organic farming, indigenous seed saving, and composting, with an in-depth facility exploring presentation from Mr. Taweesak Ongiam during the field visits to ShooShoke followed by an insight towards the essence & importance of indigenous Seed Saving by Mr. Jon Jandai and closing reflections with certificate distribution. The event concluded with renewed energy and a collective commitment to advancing sustainable living.

SEED 1.0 attracted 20 participants, including eco-enthusiasts, permaculture practitioners, educators, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and development professionals. By the end of the program, participants had gained practical knowledge and joined a growing network of sustainability-driven leaders committed to regenerative and climate-smart communities.

Mr. Bhargab Mohan Das, Founder of the DN69 Family group of companies and AIT Alumni, said, “With SEED 1.0, we have planted the first seeds that will grow into a secure and self-sufficient future. Through continued initiatives, we aim to carry this journey forward toward meaningful and positive outcomes.”

Prof. Dieter Trau, Director of AIT EC, commented that the successful conclusion of SEED 1.0 with its partners marks the start of a fruitful series of sustainability-focused workshops. He added that SEED 2.0 is already planned for February 2026.

The workshop is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DN69 Family and AIT, supported by WSI DN69 Co. Ltd.
