15 October 2025 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), India, to strengthen collaboration in executive education and exchange programs.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between AIT and IIMV to promote academic exchange and co-create impactful programs in management, technology, sustainability, and related domains. The partnership aims to advance joint initiatives that nurture global perspectives and foster knowledge-driven development across Asia.
The scope of this collaboration encompasses a wide range of academic and research activities, including executive PhD exchange programs, joint professional certification courses in business and management, and collaborative research projects in management, technology, sustainability, and related fields. It also envisions organizing joint conferences, seminars, symposia, and webinars, as well as exploring opportunities for joint supervision of doctoral students.
Prof. Siddharth K. Jabade, Vice President for Administration and Development at AIT, said, “At AIT, we believe that collaborations are not built by institutions of brick but by people, faculty, and scholars who create lasting relationships that grow in breadth and depth. This partnership symbolizes an intellectual bridge between Thailand and India, fostering faculty mobility, joint research, and the creation of impactful knowledge products that generate value across our nations and the ASEAN region. Together, we aim to create impact, and impact at scale.”
Dr. Amit Shankar, Dean of Research and Associate Professor, Marketing Management Department at IIMV, shared, “We look forward to co-creating value through meaningful collaboration in teaching and research. Together, AIT and IIM Visakhapatnam can foster faculty exchange, joint research, and executive education programs that make a real impact across our institutions and beyond. This partnership will help our students and scholars experience diverse academic ecosystems, share innovative ideas, and build global perspectives.”
Prof. Yuosre Badir, Dean of the AIT School of Management (SOM), remarked, “This collaboration opens new pathways for impactful partnerships, where academia and industry come together to co-develop programs, share knowledge, and drive meaningful transformation across the region. At SOM, we see alliances like this as opportunities to co-create value, combining academic rigor with real-world insight to strengthen education, research, and executive learning across borders.”
From IIMV, Dr. Aalok Kumar, Young Faculty Research Chair and Assistant Professor, participated in the event. Representing AIT were Prof. Yuosre Badir, Dean of SOM; Dr. Kamonkanok Kiatisakchai, Assistant Dean of SOM; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director of Office of International Affairs; Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director of the Office of Public Affairs; and Dr. Syed Muntasir Husain Bokhari, Program Specialist, SOM.
