13 February 2025 – The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu), India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 13 February 2025 in a virtual ceremony to expand collaboration in education, research, innovation, and executive education.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT, and Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, to promote cooperation in management, technology, sustainability, and related areas. The partnership will support a range of initiatives, including faculty, student, and staff exchanges; dual-degree programs at master’s and doctoral levels; joint professional certification programs; collaborative research; and joint conferences, seminars, symposia, summer programs, and study treks.
Speaking on the collaboration, Prof. Pai-Chi Li highlighted that the partnership brings together AIT’s strengths in innovation and technology with IIM Jammu’s expertise in management and leadership, strengthening South–Southeast Asia ties while advancing impactful research, entrepreneurship, and exchange opportunities to develop globally adaptable graduates.


Prof. B. S. Sahay noted the growing role of AI in leadership, governance, industry, and society, and emphasized that the collaboration, particularly the Dual Degree MBA, will help develop ethically grounded, tech-enabled leaders for inclusive growth, sustainable innovation, and nation-building, while also reinforcing long-standing ties between AIT and Indian institutions.
Under the MoA for the Dual Degree MBA Program, signed by Prof. Yuosre Badir, Interim Dean, School of Management at AIT, and Prof. B. S. Sahay, the two institutions will jointly offer a structured two-year pathway. Students will spend a minimum of one year at each institution, completing the first year at IIM Jammu and the second year at AIT. Graduates will receive an MBA degree from IIM Jammu, and an MBA in AI and Business Analytics from AIT.


Senior officials from both institutions were present for the signing, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening academic linkages and building future-ready talent across the region. From IIMJ Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean, Academics; Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, and Dr. Malaya Ranjan Mohapatra, Chairperson, International Relations, attended. From AIT Prof. Manukid Parnichkun, Vice President Academics and Research; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director, Office of International Affairs (OIA), and Mr. Zia Islam, Executive Assistant to Dean & Coordinator, SOM, were present.
