The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has formally implemented a new academic structure effective January 2026, marking a major step in the Institute’s strategic transformation to strengthen interdisciplinary education, research excellence, and global engagement.

Transitioning from its longstanding three-school model, AIT now operates under seven academic units designed to better reflect emerging global priorities and the evolving needs of Asia and the world:

The new structure brings together 19 academic programs, positioning AIT to foster deeper cross-disciplinary collaboration in areas such as infrastructure resilience, digital transformation, climate adaptation, sustainable development, food systems, and policy innovation.

This reorganization reinforces AIT’s commitment to producing future-ready graduates and impactful research aligned with global challenges including climate change, technological disruption, sustainable urbanization, and regional development.

The following Deans have been appointed under the new structure with effect from 1 January 2026:

  • Dr. Thi Phuoc Lai Nguyen – Dean, Faculty of Public Policy & Sustainable Development and Faculty of Asian Study
  • Prof. Anil Kumar Anal – Dean, Faculty of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources
  • Prof. Yuosre Badir – Interim Dean, School of Management
  • Prof. Jai Govind Singh – Dean, Faculty of Climate Change and Sustainability
  • Dr. Sarawut Ninsawat – Dean, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology
  • Dr. Ekbordin Winijkul – Dean, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The academic restructuring forms part of AIT’s broader institutional transformation agenda aimed at strengthening global partnerships, research impact, and regional leadership in sustainable development and advanced technology.
