Topic:    Crossing the GenAI Divide: From 20 Years of R&D to Real-World  Organizational Transformation

Abstract:

Today Artificial Intelligence has shifted from science fiction to a core business necessity; understanding the trajectory of this technology is vital for any organization. This talk, led by a deep-tech expert with over 20 years of experience in AI and Thai Natural Language Processing (NLP), provides a comprehensive roadmap for bridging the gap between individual AI productivity and enterprise-scale transformation.

The first part of the session explores the history and recent trends of AI, specifically the rapid rise of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). We will define the shift from AI as a mere “tool” to AI as a “digital co-worker”capable of handling complex workflows and assisting in strategic decision-making.

The talk then dives into real-world use cases and applications, highlighting high-impact solutions in transcription and analytics. A key highlight includes a case study of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives (Thai Parliament), where the implementation of an AI-based shorthand report service saved 88% of transcription time, reducing 2–3 hours of manual work to just 15–20 minutes.

The final segment addresses the “GenAI Divide” and the reality of AI in business. While over 80% of organizations explore AI, only 5% reach production with measurable impact. We will analyze why many AI projects fail—citing factors like vendor hype, unrealistic expectations, and the “Shadow AI” economy where employees use personal tools secretly and provide a strategic framework for success.

Thank you for your attention.
