In 2013, China launched the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to improve connectivity and cooperation on a transcontinental scale. High-speed railway is one of the signature projects within the Belt and Road initiatives. In the last couple of years, a number of bilateral and multilateral infrastructure construction projects have sprung up with the support of the Belt and Road framework, injecting new driving forces into the economic and social development.
Since high-speed railway is accelerating the expansion of its construction network, and gradually becoming one of the mainstream transportation options, it possesses many irreplaceable advantages such as economic feasibility, efficiency and safety, energy conservation, environmental friendliness, etc.
