Abstract
Rocket (Launch Vehicle) technology is a base of space technology, which enables the exploration and the utilization of the space. Many countries tried to develop original rockets, but only several countries could successfully build highly usable rockets so far.

Brief Biography
Prof. Tai Nakamura had studied Aerospace Engineering both at the University of Tokyo and Stanford University and received the Ph.D. degree in Aerospace from Graduate School of Engineering, University of Tokyo in 2012. His major field of study is guidance & control. He worked for the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency for 35 years after graduation and experienced several R&D projects such as the H-II Rocket project, H3 Rocket project, and development and utilization of Japanese Experiment Module which is a part of the International Space Station.

Currently he is a senior advisor to the director of International Relations and Research Department, JAXA, Japan. And working as an external expert at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and also being a member of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences.

The topic will take one hour for lecture and 30 minutes for audiences’ discussion.
