Seminar on Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Model in the Health and Wellbeing Sector

25 Jul 2022
1:30pm - 4:05pm

We are pleased to invite you to the second seminar on Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model: Awareness Raising, Capacity Building and International Perspective. This seminar will focus on the ‘Health and Wellbeing Sector’ and will be held on Monday, 25 July 2022, 13:30 to 16:05 hrs Bangkok Time GMT+7 (Virtual). The speakers will introduce the BCG model and broadly describe how it is being applied.

The Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model has been conceptualized to underpin Thailand 4.0. It is an integration of bioeconomy, circular economy and green economy. Bioeconomy involves the production of renewable biological resources and the conversion of these resources into value-added products. Circular economy aims at reusing and recycling resources. Green economy aims to keep the economy, society and environment in balance, leading to sustainable development.

The BCG model represents a strategy to drive the country’s economic and social development. As such, the BCG model is expected to provide further impetus for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the BCG model is expected to be a focus of discussion at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, chaired by Thailand.
