Seminar on Strengthening Thailand-China’s Collaboration on Climate Action

30 Sep 2022
1:30pm - 3:30pm

Dear AIT Community,

We are pleased to invite you to the Fourth Seminar on Strengthening Thailand-China’s Collaboration on Climate Action. This seminar will be held on the 30th September 2022, 13:30 to 15:50 hrs Bangkok Time GMT+7 (Virtual). The seminar is built on a network of knowledge partners and researchers that have a commitment to advancing climate actions and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Climate change is a serious environmental and sustainable development challenge caused by past and current human development, and curbing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to change are global policy objectives. Climate change impacts are already being felt across the globe and they are guaranteed to get worse if unmitigated. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement provide a firm foundation for the coherent implementation of climate actions and sustainable development objectives at all levels. Progress made towards limiting global temperature increase would significantly ease the path to many other SDGs, such as those related to poverty, hunger, access to water, and terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

It is aimed that the seminar will significantly contribute to a better understanding between Thailand and China on research, development and innovation cooperation on climate actions and more effective promotion of synergies between climate action and sustainable development. The webinar will deliberate on climate and SDGs synergies with key recommendations on scaling up joint implementation.
