The World Environment Day (WED), which is celebrated annually on June 5, is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. This year’s WED will focus on 3 major themes, namely: Climate, Nature and Chemicals & Pollution. With its campaign, #OnlyOneEarth, it calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
Truly transformative options towards sustainability need to be available, affordable, and attractive for people to make better daily decisions. Hence, the Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP), in partnership with the School of Environment, Resource and Development (SERD), and the Office of Sustainable Campus (OSC), cordially invite you to join the World Environment Day celebration on 02 June 2022 (Thursday) from 11:00am to 2:00pm, at the AITCC Pond area.
Don’t forget to bring your reusable shopping bags, food containers, and eating utensils and experience green shopping practice at our Sustainable Bazar. Showcase your talents through various competitions such as Photography and Sustainable Fashion. Be aware of the hazards our local community is facing. Take inspiration from our model sustainable kitchen. Know that solutions and technologies exist and are increasingly available.
Shop sustainably. Eat sustainably. Live sustainably. It’s time to commit for Earth Action. We have #OnlyOneEarth. Let’s take care of it.
