A message from the dean
We are living in a new era of rapid and continuous change. Digital technologies are transforming how we live, work, and interact with the world around us. Advances in machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), robotics, data science, and intelligent systems are no longer concepts of the future—they are shaping today’s industries, societies, and economies.
At the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, we recognize that this transformation brings not only challenges, but also great opportunities. Technology must be designed and applied to improve quality of life, enhance productivity, reduce inequality, and support sustainable development for our communities, our region, and the world. The Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology welcomes students from around the world who wish to become part of this exciting new era. We believe that diversity of cultures, ideas, and perspectives is a powerful source of innovation. Our Faculty is a place where global knowledge meets local and regional challenges, and where international students can grow academically, professionally, and personally.
As a multidisciplinary academic unit, our Faculty brings together engineering, computing, communication technologies, intelligent machines, industrial systems, remote sensing, and geospatial sciences. This integrated approach allows students to gain a broad yet solid foundation, while also developing expertise in specialized areas. Our academic programs are designed to prepare graduates who can work across disciplines, cultures, and industries in an increasingly interconnected world.
Our Faculty offers a wide range of academic programs, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Technology and Enterprise Information Management, Mechatronics and Machine Intelligence, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, AIoT, Smart Networks and Communications Engineering, and Remote Sensing and GIS. These programs are carefully designed to balance theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, ensuring that students are ready for real-world challenges. We emphasize technologies that contribute to smart cities, intelligent industries, environmental monitoring, healthcare innovation, efficient manufacturing, and resilient digital infrastructure. By aligning technology with sustainability goals, we aim to create graduates who understand their responsibility to society and the planet.
One of our greatest strengths is our people. Our academic staff are recognized experts in their fields, with strong backgrounds in research, industry collaboration, and applied technological development. More importantly, they are committed educators and mentors. We work closely with students, providing guidance, academic support, and research opportunities. We believe that success is built through collaboration, trust, and shared learning.
As Dean of the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST), I warmly invite you to join us in shaping the future. Here, you will find a learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and innovation. Together, we can harness the power of digital technologies and intelligent systems to create meaningful change and build a sustainable, technology-driven society for generations to come.
