The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE) at Asian Institute of Technology represents a forward-looking step in academic excellence and societal impact. Established through the strategic integration of the former Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, the Faculty brings together decades of expertise to address the complex infrastructure challenges of the 21st century. Rooted in AIT’s strong tradition of innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration, the Faculty serves as a hub for advanced education, cutting-edge research, and practical solutions that respond to regional and global needs.

With a strong interdisciplinary foundation, the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering focuses on the planning, design, management, and long-term sustainability of resilient infrastructure systems. Its academic and research activities span water resources engineering, environmental systems, transportation, structural engineering, urban and regional development, and climate-resilient infrastructure. A defining strength of the Faculty lies in its emphasis on innovative management approaches to environmental and water-related challenges, integrating engineering solutions with policy, economics, and social considerations.

The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering advances AIT’s strategic goals by delivering interdisciplinary, high-quality graduate education that integrates water, environmental, civil, transportation, geotechnical, structural, and infrastructure management engineering. Message from the Dean

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE) at the Asian Institute of Technology. The establishment of this Faculty marks an important milestone in AIT’s academic evolution, bringing together the long-standing strengths of water resources, environmental engineering, civil and infrastructure engineering under a unified vision. This integration reflects our commitment to addressing today’s complex infrastructure challenges through interdisciplinary thinking, innovation, and sustainability-driven solutions.

The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE) builds on a strong legacy of excellence in education, research, and professional engagement. Our academic and research programs span environmental and water engineering, transportation, geotechnical and structural engineering, and construction and infrastructure management, fields that are fundamental to resilient societies and sustainable development.
